Workgroup Overview

This workgroup provided standard interfaces between hotel kiosks and Property Management Systems (PMSs). This allows hotels to match any supporting PMS with any supporting kiosk without the need for custom interfaces. PMS and kiosk vendors benefit from reduced development time and costs. Kiosk/PMS interface vendors gain the widest possible market for their products and hotels have confidence that their product investment is protected if they change either kiosk or PMS vendor.

Business benefits include:

  • Leveraging the existing HTNG use of OpenTravel™ Alliance messages, as well as HTNG headers, the interface will allow PMS vendors to reuse existing interface technology, reducing the development time and cost to creating a kiosk interface.
  • By conforming to an open standard interface, the Kiosk/PMS interface vendors will have the widest possible market for their products.
  • When purchasing product from vendors that comply with the open standard, hotels will have confidence that their investment will be protected if they change either kiosk or Property Management System vendor.
